The Canadian Government recently announced the cancelling of it's entrepreneur class visa. There had been a backlog of at least 52,000 applicants who had indicated a desire to purchase a home and settle in the Metro Vancouver area. This new government policy could have the effect of slowing the sale of luxury homes or at least having a downward price effect. At the same time, the government has mused about the possibility of putting new immigration categories in place later this year. If it does, the recent announcement's effect may be mitigated.
